Our philosophy, “The Heart Leads the Hands,” brings clinical skill and character together. Training, technology, and experience matter. So do compassion, humility, honesty, and the patience to explain. We want you to see what we see, understand why it matters, and participate in decisions about your health.
That begins with a comprehensive examination. Even when you arrive with one concern, we consider the teeth, gums, supporting bone, bite, risk factors, and medical history together. A complete diagnosis helps us recommend the right care. Natural teeth deserve every reasonable opportunity, and meaningful disease deserves appropriate treatment.
Our relationships extend beyond our office. We work closely with referring dentists and hygienists, protecting the trust they have built with you. Within our own team, kindness, continual growth, and a sense of joy shape the experience we want every person to have.

A Career Shaped by Service, Learning & Relationships
Service Takes Root — During Dental School
The Sergeant Clint Ferrin Memorial Clinic began in July 2008, providing dental care for soldiers and later other veterans in need. Created in honor of a brother lost in military service, this work reflects a lasting belief: clinical skill matters most when it improves another person's life.
Learning That Reaches Beyond Our Walls — Study Club Leadership
Through the Rogue Excellence Dental Club, our practice helps bring dental professionals together to learn and collaborate. Seattle Study Club recognition has included Rookie of the Year in 2019 and an Exceptional Leadership Award in 2021, reflecting a commitment to stronger professional relationships and continued growth.
Advancing Minimally Invasive Care in Southern Oregon
Ferrin Periodontics was the first office in Southern Oregon to bring LANAP together with endoscopic Perioscope-assisted care, giving patients a more precise way to evaluate and treat periodontal disease while working to preserve natural teeth and implants. Today, our use of Perio View reflects the same commitment: use the most advanced technology when it serves a clear clinical purpose and helps patients protect what matters.

Founder & Periodontist
John Ferrin, DMD, MS
A commitment to helping people has shaped his career from military service through dentistry and specialist practice. He earned his dental degree at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, then completed a Master of Science and a certificate in Periodontology at the University of Kentucky.
During dental school, he helped establish a clinic honoring his brother, Sergeant Clint Ferrin, to care for veterans in need. That same spirit guides his approach today: listen carefully, diagnose thoroughly, and recommend the care he would want for someone he loves.
He has proudly served the Valley since 2014, continually bringing advanced periodontal care to the community. In 2018, his practice became the first office in Southern Oregon to introduce LANAP and endoscopic periodontal care, offering patients access to innovative treatment options.
He also leads the Rogue Excellence Dental Club, bringing dental professionals together for ongoing education and collaboration. Outside the office, he enjoys working out, rucking, and recently picking up golf with his family.
His philosophy is simple: The Heart Leads the Hands.
